Bubble tents...

Image via

I am not an outdoorsie kind of girl.  Don't get me wrong I would like to be an outdoorsie kind of girl but am extremely allergic to Poison Ivy.  Not much fun to go camping or hiking with the possibility that your entire body is going to be covered in red itchyness.

But these adorable see through tents have me wanting to try it one more time!  How romantic would it be to fall asleep looking at a spectacular view all around you?  These tents call for a cool destination.  I am thinking Hawaii or the Grand Canyon.  Not just any old place around Illinois.  Not cool enough for the risk of bumps.

Do you enjoy camping?  And if so what are some of the things that you do to lighten' the "roughing it" load?

wellies for paris

I have been doing some research on the weather in Paris in September. It could be rainy which is no biggie but I want to still be able to get out and about. So the search starts for the perfect rain gear. I want a pair of these Hunter Wellington boots! I really do love all the different patterns and colors out there in rain boot fashion but I am a girl who does not wear color. I have a love affair with the color black and I am not about to break up with it.

I also want a jacket that is rain proof but not poncho looking. I don't want it to look like an athletic pull over or something you would wear to a sporting event. So the search for the perfect honeymoon wardrobe continues on. I have a whole section of my closet where I have been hoarding away new clothes for the trip. I love the feel of something new. There is nothing like putting on a new outfit!

finally friday

Sorry for not as much inspiration this week- I promise to have two DIY projects next week! It has been crazy around our house losing keys among other things. Did you know that it costs more then $250 to replace your keys in a Ford Explorer if you don't have a spare set? Outrageous! But on a more pleasant note we have finally, finally, FINALLY booked our honeymoon!!!

For weeks now I didn't think that I was going to be able to convince Ryan to leave the country. Not even Mexico or the Caribbean. He simple has no want to leave America {can you tell he is a Midwest boy??} It's hard to keep me in this country. So needless to say coming up with honeymoon we both agreed on was a challenge.

I am happy to say though that he is facing his fear of flying over the ocean and come September 8 we will be on our way to Paris!!! Booked our flight and hotel last night-non refundable! I don't think there are words to describe how happy I am. It has been four long years since I have ventured that way, in fact the last time was when I was coming home from living abroad. {I was a nanny in Germany}

So now it's all fun stuff! No more searching the Internet for countless hours trying to get a better price. No more heated discussions on where we are going to go. Now we can learn a little French, buy some cute clothes for the trip, and dream about cheese and baguette! Sigh...could life be much better?

So we are going to sit back and celebrate this weekend by watching French Kiss with Meg Ryan and Calvin Klein. One of my all time faves! What will you be doing this weekend?

private island honeymoons

I thought only people like Jessica Simpson could afford to have their own private island for their honeymoon. But after reading this- I have different thoughts. There is something for everyone here- from a lighthouse keeper who catches your dinner every night or exploring ancient ruins in Ireland. I can just imagine spending our days on the dock above. Relaxing and just enjoying each other in our first days of married life.

honeymoon

Soooo after only six months of fighting about where to go on our honeymoon we have FINALLY come to an agreement...In fact our plane tickets are being booked this week. Can you guess where by the pretty little castle above?!? Yup Disneyworld. When Ryan suggested it I was like YES! Why hadn't I thought of that? We are not beach layers. Ryan has ADD we have to keep busy so the park is perfect for us. So much to do and we can do it at our own pace. Plus I have vacationed at Disney a couple times in the nice resorts and it is awesome service! Your room is clean-really clean. The food is good and it's easy to get around without renting a car. I am pumped! Finally a light at the end of the this wedding planning tunnel. All this honeymoon planning has me itching to buy summer clothes and bikinis and fun things but sadly my money has other purposes right now. So I will share my favorite "window" shopping site. It's a wedding/ honeymoon collection from H&M one of my very favorite stores!

trousseau ideas

For the honeymoon I want some sexy new pieces of lingerie. I am in love with SandMaiden on Etsy! She has a beautiful and chic style. It doesn't feel cheap or generic and with most of it under $50 bucks it's a honeymoon steal! I personally am going to stock up for next September! Check her out and let me know what you think! With Valentines Day coming up it's the perfect excuse to spend a little cash without any guilt. Another added benefit- the motivation to get back into shape after all the holiday food! {guilty, guily, guilty and I have a bridesmaid dress to fit into in five days!}

trousseaus

Trousseau \Trous`seau"\ (tr[=oo]`s[=o]"), n. [F., fr. OF.
trossel, dim. of trousse a bundle, truss. See Truss.]
The collective lighter equipments or outfit of a bride,
including clothes, jewelry, and the like; especially, that
which is provided for her by her family.

Moving to Europe really made me downsize. I had a garage sale and sold almost everything that I owned. I had one box that I was storing at my parents and one medium sized suitcase....one...suitcase...was I crazy or genius? Turns out it was genius. Everything in that suitcase was new. New clothes, new style, new everything. Those things became a part of my new life-a part of my life that was exciting and new- much like starting off married life. Which has me thinking about wedding trousseau's. Seems kinda silly and old fashion. {but do you want to know a secret?} I kinda like the idea.

I love Katie Holmes' Armani duds designed specifically for her wedding week. This is a huge new chapter in my life. Me and Ryan are starting a family. Like any new phase in life-as a fashion and design conscious person- I have to think what I want my style to say as a married woman. How to I want people to perceive me as a wife?

And like starting a new school year, clothes make you feel ready and prepared. Every woman should have a nice dress. Maybe a string of pearls. I don't have specifics nailed down but I am thinking that a good old fashion trousseau is for me.
